STRATHFIELDSAYE Lions Club

and GOLDEN CITY, BENDIGO Lioness Club

Projects

Bendigo and Strathfieldsaye Lions Clubs sponsored a successful motion to Lions District V1-4 at its convention in October 2009.

This motion was that Lions should assist the Righteous Pups Organisation.Righteous Pups suports the training of Austistic Assistance Dogs.

The term "autism" was first used in 1943 by Dr Leo Kanner. He published a paper about a group of children he had observed in his clinic. These children were unlike most others - withdrawn, non-verbal, with bizarre ritualistic and repetitive behaviours.

We would ask each Lions Club, when organising its financial plan for the next disbursement, to ensure the expansion of the training program for these special dogs. Through our support more children with autism will benefit from a special assistance dog.

Donations can be forwarded via the Strathfieldsaye Lions Club, contact Contact Cheryl Lawry on 0407 339 036
